About

Karen Anns was founded in 2016 as a part-time business and quickly developed a significant customer base providing dog walking services in Corby. The addition of "Paws for thought" came about after a moment of reflection, that her dream job had gone full time, and had expanded into the surrounding villages and part of Rutland.

Since 2022 our service area has increased further, into and around the towns and villages of the Corby, Oakham and Stamford area.
Since moving to Rutland,  Karen Ann’s - Paws for thought has grown into a lovely Team of dog walkers, a fully qualified dog trainer, and a professsional pet writer. We all care passionately about your pets' welfare and wellbein
g and are really thrilled to be looking after all your four-legged loved ones.

Meet the Team:

Chris Robinson DTC-CDT
Pet care and welfare walker & Certificated Dog Trainer

Chris grew up in Oldham, settling in Rutland after serving in the RAF as an aircraft avionics engineer.

On leaving the RAF he pursued a career within the power industry as a service engineer, working on emergency electrical support systems, located around the UK and Offshore. Then making the decision to seek an enjoyable work position closer to home, his enthusiasm for dog enrichment and training led him to join our team.

He is a qualified dog trainer registered with the Dog Training College, and has also gained a distinction with the DWAS certification course.

Chris enjoys keep fit and running, taking part in 10K races, both locally

and in Manchester.

Johnny
Professional Writer

Johnny was born and raised in Manchester, but has now plumped for a quieter (and less rainy) life here in the East Midlands.

He spent his working life in the world of radar in the RAF and more recently as a postie.

His passion for animals and canine behaviour introduced him to Karen Ann with whom he now works bringing all her furry friends stories to
life.

He is a qualified Canine Principles trained writer, and has both BCCS qualification and Certificate in Creative Writing with the Writer’s

Bureau, and has also gained a distinction with the DWAS certification course.

He spends his spare time travelling, writing, reading and playing his guitar-when not walking his rescue dog, Bob.

Karen Ann

As a child I was always with my beloved Sophie (German Shepherd), Sally (Springer Spaniel) and Brandy (King Charles Spaniel), and Tom (my ginger cat) followed me everywhere!

Every new pet I encounter is an adventure and a joy, and I couldn't wish for a better job!

Whilst working in the care sector Karen Ann spent her spare time creating embroidery art, which was predominantly animal themed, particularly dogs! This was primarily a hobby-business and Karen Ann’s was born in 2016.

In 2019, after 18 years also working full time, she decided it was time to start a new career path, and with her pure love of animals and passion for the great outdoors she channelled her efforts into a lifetime career devoted to animal care, and hasn't looked back!

THIS IS A GREAT PLACE FOR YOUR TAGLINE.
